The Development Group Five approach to achieving mission success.

In a world of evolving risks and challenges that could impact us personally or professionally, it's easy to be caught up in a lackluster cycle where personal and career progression becomes stagnant and stale. There are of course many who keep moving forward no matter the obstacle in front of them, it could be an illness, a break up, a financial situation, the loss of a job or failing to gain that sought after promotion within your company. Ensuring that you stay at peak performance, remain motivated and hold a positive mindset will enable you to be always moving forward to achieve mission success.


Rome wasn't built in a day is the old saying, so it's important to make sure that you balance your time and efforts to ensure maximum benefit in all that you do. Putting in too much without taking a break to recalibrate your thinking, will ultimately slow any progress that you hoped to make, but doing the reverse of this will allow you the space required to take a hard pause and reflect on your progress as you hunt down your objective. It doesn't matter how big or small the task or project ahead of you is, slow and steady, diligent, thoughtful and balanced, is what it's all about.

Given the current Coronavirus pandemic, there are lots of stresses and emotions, worries and fears for many. There are financial concerns, people fearing they'll lose a job they've held which provides them with security, companies losing contracts or events that had been planned and now being canceled, and even small to mid size business needing to close down. It's a testing time for sure, but just as we all must maintain a strong sense of discipline with social distancing and self isolation, we need to use this time now positively, ensuring that we keep positive thoughts.

The power of well balanced positive thinking has been shown to have many physical and mental benefits - it can give you more confidence, improve your mood, and even reduce the likelihood of developing conditions such as hypertension, depression and other stress-related disorders. It can and will also allow you to think more clearly, about what you want out of life and how you can go about things in a different light, with a different approach that is well thought out. This can of course be easier said than done, but things will improve if you think positively and although this may take some time, it certainly isn't going to make your situation any better by dwelling on it and focusing your energy and efforts on things that are quite simply out of our control.

The team at Development Group Five have all gone through extremely challenging situations and seen things that would break most people, but what we also have in common is the ability to perform at the highest level and motivate ourselves through a positive mindset. This has been done through the missions that we've undertaken as-well as in our roles within the private sector, but importantly it's also been an approach each of us has taken in any down time that we have. Having the ability to take a step back and think things through has given us the ability to have a wider view of the objective, and how best to strategize to achieve our goal.

This is something that we can all do to enable us to be more productive. You could take a 5 minute walk outside of your workplace, leave for home an hour earlier than normal to give yourself that little bit of extra time to yourself, going for a coffee and reading a book or just sitting somewhere quiet and having a short 'positive thinking' session with yourself. We've met people from all walks of life and as well as our own teaching we've learned something new from everyone. Everyone takes different approaches to positive thinking, some don't do it while others over do it, but again it's all about that balance and finding your way through it and making the necessary adjustments, this will enable you to find what works for you.

Performance

Improving performance can come in many forms, mentally, physically, in your personal life, a relationship or in your career. We should all strive to be the best version that we can be, so we focus on improving your performance through an engaging approach that is designed to gain results in all that you do. If you are at peak performance, you will consistently deliver and achieve and the fulfillment you gain from that is something that you'll never want to change.

Motivation

For some, it's easy to be stuck in a rut, to lack motivation, and not have the inner drive to do something that they may have set their mind on doing. Being self-motivated enables you to be always moving forward with a consistent flow of positivity and growth, where you feel motivated every single day and chase down what it is you set your mind to. Our team are experienced and thoughtful leaders who are all self motivated team players. They help you to learn skills that bring you out of your comfort zone, you'll take risks yes, but the rewards will be for the rest of your life.


Mindset

Almost all of what we do today is driven by our mindset. That mindset can come in many forms, but at Development Group Five, we promote the military mindset. It is this that has enabled our team members to be successful in their careers, both within the military and the private sector. We have collectively defined this as something that has helped each of us to be at the top of our game consistently. When you understand the fundamentals of the military mindset, you'll feel as though you can achieve anything, and it is this that will take you to the next level in everything that you do.
